Amazon MGM Studios just dropped the first trailer for *Mercy*, an upcoming sci-fi thriller featuring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson.
Okay, so this film is directed by Timur Bekmambetov, and the script is by Marco van Belle. I was really excited to see Annabelle Wallis in it, and it’s got a great supporting cast too – Kali Reis, Rafi Gavron, Chris Sullivan, Kenneth Choi, Kylie Rogers, and Jeff Pierre all show up, which is awesome.
I’m really intrigued by this new movie, *Mercy*. It’s set in the not-too-distant future and centers around Detective Chris Raven, who’s played by Chris Pratt. The crazy part is, he’s actually on trial for his wife’s murder! It sounds like a total mind-bender.
A man has only 90 minutes to convince a highly intelligent A.I. – played by Rebecca Ferguson – that he’s innocent, before it determines his future. The situation is even more intense because of his wife, played by Annabelle Wallis, and the emotional weight she brings to the story.

In January 2024, Amazon MGM Studios revealed plans for the film, with Chris Pratt already set to star.
Ferguson and Wallis were cast in March, and more actors joined the project in the following months. Shooting began on April 18, 2024, in Los Angeles, with Khalid Mohtaseb handling the cinematography. Early in the shoot, Chris Pratt injured his ankle and shared a picture of it on Instagram. Filming finished on May 23rd.
The movie *Mercy* will now come out in the US on January 23, 2026. It was originally planned for release on August 15, 2025.
The first trailer for the upcoming thriller is out, and it’s packed with suspense. It features exciting scenes of advanced technology and shows Chris Pratt in a desperate race against time to rescue himself.
