Digimon Story: Time Stranger, like many role-playing games, has a lot of optional side quests. While most are simple – usually involving traveling to a location, battling a Digimon, or finding an item – one quest near the end of the game is trickier. It involves a lost MarineAngemon, and without knowing the correct path, you might spend a significant amount of time searching.
This guide will help you with the “I Don’t Belong Anywhere Yet” quest. We’ll show you where to find the clean seawater that MarineAngemon needs and explain how to finish the quest.
I Don’t Belong Anywhere Yet quest guide – Digimon Story: Time Stranger
The quest ‘I Don’t Belong Anywhere Yet’ becomes available through your Digiline as you progress in the story. It tasks you with helping MarineAngemon, who’s performing at the Warriors’ Watering Hole but struggling to find listeners. MarineAngemon is also feeling homesick and asks you to collect a bottle of clean water from their home, the Abyss Area.
The Abyss Area has many places to collect water, but most of it isn’t good enough for MarineAngemon. Creatures like Numemon and Raremon have contaminated the water sources. If you try to collect water from these areas, you’ll get a message saying it’s “funky,” and MarineAngemon will refuse it.
To fulfill MarineAngemon’s request, you’ll need to gather water from a particular spot. See below for details on where to find it.
MarineAngemon’s water location – Digimon Story: Time Stranger
Okay, so finding that water is a bit of a trek. It’s not down *in* the Abyss, surprisingly, but on the surface area. You’ll want to head to the north-west corner of the lower floor of the Abyss Surface zone – it’s near all the other places where you collect water. I’ve included a screenshot showing exactly where to go on both the main map and the overlaid one, so you can’t miss it!
You can spot useful objects from afar because they’ll shimmer, and you won’t find any Numemon or Raremon nearby, which means the water is still clean.
If your water bottle is already filled with dirty water, you don’t need to bring it to MarineAngemon to clean it. Just go to the location described earlier and use the clean water source. The game will then let you empty out the dirty water and refill the bottle with fresh water.
So, I brought the clean water back to MarineAngemon, and honestly, they weren’t *totally* thrilled, but it didn’t seem to matter. I just kept chatting with them – I didn’t really worry about picking the ‘right’ answers – and they led me back to the Abyss Area to wrap up the quest. It was a pretty straightforward finish!
