Watching Jesse Plemons and Emma Stone act together is always captivating – even something as simple as them reading aloud would be entertaining. But we’re especially thrilled to see them in this movie about two young men who believe a powerful CEO is an alien and kidnap her to save the world.
We’re confidently predicting that Jesse Plemons’ character, who is fixated on conspiracies, will be proven right – and Emma Stone’s character is actually an alien. We *want* this to be true, because Stone is perfectly cast as a strong CEO who could secretly be an invader from another planet. But beyond that, this kind of unexpected twist is exactly what we’ve learned to anticipate from director Yorgos Lanthimos, known for films like *The Lobster* and *Poor Things*.
Will Tracy, the writer behind *The Menu* and *Succession*, brings us *Bugonia*, a new film starring Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone. It will be shown in select theaters starting October 24th, and will be available everywhere on Halloween, October 31st – which makes the story feel like it could be about an alien invasion! Fans can catch an early screening at Focus Features’ one-day film festival on October 18th.
