As a big Daredevil fan, I’m really excited about what’s coming! After the first season of Daredevil: Born Again was such a hit, everyone involved – the cast and crew – has been working hard on the next part of the story. I can’t wait to see what they come up with!
Dario Scardapane, the showrunner, recently announced on social media that Season 2 is scheduled to premiere in March 2026. This new season will consist of eight episodes and is planned as part of Marvel’s Phase Six plans.
Production on Season 2 began on February 28, 2025, initially known as Out the Kitchen 2. The directors from the first season – Benson and Moorhead, along with Naim, MacDonald, and Barnes – all came back to direct individual episodes.
Hillary Fyfe Spera, a member of the original production team, returned as the cinematographer and collaborated with Jeffrey Waldron on several episodes. Philip Silvera also rejoined the team, serving as both stunt coordinator and second unit director.
Filming for the production happened across various locations in New York City. In late March, the crew was seen shooting in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and Charlie Cox was spotted in his black Daredevil suit on the set of Josie’s Bar. A few weeks after that, actor Wilson Bethel filmed scenes in Chelsea. By mid-May, they had completed about half of the filming, and the entire production finished on July 9.
Writer Justin Wigutow says the second season will feature a much larger story, exploring the seedier side of New York City. “We’re crafting a broad and expansive narrative-a true New York City story involving crime and politics,” Wigutow explained to Collider. “The presence of Mayor Fisk and the complex power dynamics within City Hall are particularly exciting, in my opinion.”
He also mentioned the upcoming season will feature a dramatic confrontation between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. “We built a large-scale story, expanded it significantly, and then focused the finale on the core of it all… these two characters and their ongoing struggle,” Wigutow stated. “They have a profound hatred for each other, yet they are also deeply connected.”
Those who enjoyed the original Netflix Daredevil series will be happy to see some returning cast members. Deborah Ann Woll is reprising her role as Karen Page, Jon Bernthal will be back as The Punisher, and Krysten Ritter will once again play Jessica Jones. This news has led many to speculate that other heroes from Marvel’s Defenders team-such as Luke Cage and Iron Fist-could also make an appearance.
Marvel Studios has announced that a special episode featuring The Punisher, which was originally intended for the first season, will now be available in 2026. It will be released as part of the Marvel Studios Special Presentations series.
The story continues! Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is currently being developed and is planned to be released in March 2027 as part of Phase Six. Although Charlie Cox previously mentioned that Season 2 would be the final one, Marvel Television’s Brad Winderbaum confirmed that a third season is definitely happening.
Wigutow suggested that Season 3 will be a fresh take on the series. “It will continue the story, but it’s heading in a new direction, and we’re moving past many of the elements established in [Seasons] 1 and 2,” he explained. Although the writers haven’t officially begun working on the next season, Wigutow mentioned they’ll be meeting shortly. “We’re getting back together within the next week or two as a core creative team in a writers’ room,” he said.
Featuring fresh faces, higher risks, and the comeback of beloved characters, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 promises to be a standout installment in the Marvel television world.
