JAY KELLY Trailer: George Clooney and Adam Sandler Journey Through Their Pasts

A dramatic Adam Sandler? Absolutely! We love seeing Adam Sandler in serious roles. We’re also excited about this intriguing first look at Jay Kelly, a film where Sandler plays the longtime manager of a famous performer. When the incredibly popular actor faces an identity crisis, the two embark on a journey through their past to figure out what, if anything, they’ve actually achieved. Here’s the official description of the film from Netflix:

I’m completely captivated by the story of Jay Kelly, this incredibly famous movie actor! It follows him as he really tries to figure things out, looking back on both the good and the bad in his life. He’s not doing it alone, thankfully – his loyal manager, Ron, is right there with him. It sounds like a really moving experience, full of both heartbreaking moments and genuinely funny ones, a beautiful blend of regrets and glories, if that makes sense. I’m so excited to see where this journey takes him!

I have to say, this new film comes from the incredibly talented Noah Baumbach – you might know him from films like The Squid and the Whale and the deeply moving Marriage Story. What’s really interesting is that he didn’t work alone on the script; he co-wrote it with the fantastic Emily Mortimer, who also has a role in the movie. And the cast is *stacked*! We’ve got George Clooney and Adam Sandler leading the way, but Jay Kelly isn’t the only addition; Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Grace Edwards, Stacy Keach, Jim Broadbent, Patrick Wilson, and Isla Fisher all bring their talents to the screen as well.

I’m so excited for Jay Kelly! It’s already been shown at some major film festivals around the world, and now it’s *almost* our turn to see it. It’s hitting select theaters starting November 14th, and then it’ll be available on Netflix starting December 5th. And, in the spirit of Jay Kelly, the filmmakers are playfully suggesting we all try to avoid making any big mistakes before then – basically, set ourselves up for success, just like George Clooney!
