Here’s a quick guide to each show or movie, with details on the creators, cast, and plot, so you can start watching right away without getting lost.
10. ‘Severance’ (2022– )
Severance is a mind-bending thriller created by Dan Erickson and largely directed by Ben Stiller. The show centers around employees of Lumon Industries who have undergone a procedure that divides their memories between their work and personal lives. The talented cast includes Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette. It first aired on Apple TV+ in 2022.
Season 2 launched in January 2025, and Apple quickly renewed the show for a third season. While production faced some delays due to strikes, new episodes continued to be released weekly, and the team grew with more executive producers and writers joining the project.
9. ‘The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy’ (2023– )
In this travel series, Eugene Levy visits incredible hotels and places around the world, diving into the local culture, food, and history. Created by Twofour for Apple TV+, the show premiered in 2023 and is ongoing through 2025. Levy not only hosts but also serves as an executive producer, working with David Brindley and other team members.
Each episode showcases unique guests and planned trips. The third season launched in September 2025 and includes a special UK episode featuring an important interview at Windsor Castle. These episodes are usually around 30 minutes long and are released every week.
8. ‘The Studio’ (2025– )
This satirical series, created by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Frida Perez, Peter Huyck, and Alex Gregory, offers a humorous look at the challenges faced by a make-believe movie studio in today’s entertainment world. The show stars Seth Rogen alongside Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders, and is a production of Point Grey Pictures and Lionsgate Television for Apple TV+.
The show launched in March 2025 and featured planned appearances by several celebrities, including Dave Franco, Zoë Kravitz, Martin Scorsese, Ice Cube, and Adam Scott. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg directed some episodes, mixing humor for those in the entertainment industry with a look at how the show is made.
7. ‘Foundation’ (2021– )
This sweeping story, inspired by the classic tales of Isaac Asimov, follows mathematician Hari Seldon and his ambitious plan – called psychohistory – to save civilization as a vast galactic empire begins to fall apart. Created by David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman, the show features Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, and Leah Harvey, with music by Bear McCreary. It was produced by Skydance Television and Apple and first aired in 2021.
As a huge sci-fi fan, I was thrilled when Season 3 dropped on July 11, 2025! It picks up right where things left off with the Cleon family and the growing power of the Foundation. And the best news? Apple loved it enough to order even more seasons! What I really appreciate about the show is how incredibly detailed the world is, and how it jumps between different time periods – it’s a complex story, but the weekly releases on Apple TV+ make it easy to follow.
6. ‘Ted Lasso’ (2020– )
Ted Lasso is a funny and heartwarming series about an American football coach who takes on the challenge of leading an English soccer team, AFC Richmond. Created by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly, and based on short segments originally created for NBC Sports, the show stars Sudeikis alongside Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Nick Mohammed, and Toheeb Jimoh. It premiered in 2020 and is produced by Doozer, Warner Bros. Television, and Universal Television.
Over three seasons, the show followed the successes and challenges of Richmond, featuring writing from Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Goldstein, and a score by Marcus Mumford and Tom Howe. Recent interviews with the press and cast suggest the show will continue with a fourth season planned for 2025.
5. ‘Chief of War’ (2025)
This historical drama, created by Jason Momoa and Thomas Paʻa Sibbett, takes place in Hawaiʻi in the late 1700s. It centers on the warrior chief Kaʻiana and the battles that ultimately led to the islands being united under King Kamehameha I. Jason Momoa plays Kaʻiana, alongside Luciane Buchanan as Kaʻahumanu, with Temuera Morrison and Cliff Curtis in supporting roles. The music is composed by Hans Zimmer and James Everingham.
The nine-part series debuted on Apple TV+ on August 1, 2025. Jason Momoa, along with several other producers including Francis Lawrence and Peter Chernin, oversaw the production, which filmed in New Zealand and Hawaiʻi. The team worked with cultural experts to ensure the language and historical details were accurate and respectful.
4. ‘Platonic’ (2023– )
This half-hour comedy series, created by Francesca Delbanco and Nicholas Stoller, centers on Sylvia and Will, former best friends played by Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen, who unexpectedly reconnect later in life and shake things up for each other. The show also stars Luke Macfarlane, Tre Hale, Andrew Lopez, and Carla Gallo. Nicholas Stoller directed the series, and Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen served as executive producers.
The second season launched in 2025. The show’s creators wrote the character of Sylvia with Kara Byrne in mind and intentionally focused on a platonic, opposite-sex friendship, avoiding the common storyline of romantic affairs. It’s a production of Stoller Global Solutions and Sony Pictures Television for Apple TV+.
3. ‘Invasion’ (2021– )
This sci-fi drama follows an alien invasion from around the world, showing the story through the eyes of people in places like Long Island, Japan, and the Middle East. The series was created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil and stars Golshifteh Farahani, Shamier Anderson, and Shioli Kutsuna. Max Richter composed the music for the first season, and Bobby Krlic for the second.
The series, created by Kinberg Genre and Boat Rocker, premiered on Apple TV+ in 2021. It follows ongoing stories about humanity’s struggle to survive, how scientists react to the crisis, and the changing strategies of the aliens. Kinberg, Weil, and Jakob Verbruggen are executive producers.
2. ‘Slow Horses’ (2022– )
This British spy thriller, adapted from Mick Herron’s Slough House books, centers on a group of disgraced MI5 agents relegated to a dumping ground called “Slough House.” Gary Oldman stars as their cynical boss, Jackson Lamb, while Jack Lowden plays River Cartwright. The cast also includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Sophie Okonedo, and Jonathan Pryce. The series was developed for television by Will Smith (a British writer and producer) and is a See-Saw Films production for Apple TV+.
Each season of the show is based on a different book from the series. The fifth season began airing on September 24, 2025, and, like previous seasons, features six episodes released weekly. James Hawes and Adam Randall are among the directors who have worked on the show, and it has already been renewed for two more seasons, through season 7.
1. ‘The Morning Show’ (2019– )
I just finished watching this series, and it’s a fascinating look behind the scenes of a major morning news show. It really digs into the intense competition and power plays between the anchors and the people calling the shots. Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are fantastic as the co-hosts, and Billy Crudup is brilliant as the network executive who seems to be pulling all the strings. Later on, Jon Hamm shows up and adds another layer of complexity as a very wealthy tech guy. It first hit Apple TV+ back in 2019, and was created by Jay Carson, with Kerry Ehrin developing it – Mimi Leder was also a key figure as one of the executive producers and directors.
The show is organized around major news stories and changes within the company, and it also depicts the network’s transformation under new management. It’s a production of Media Res, Echo Films, Hello Sunshine, and Apple, with Kerry Ehrin leading the first two seasons and Charlotte Stoudt taking over for season three. Apple has confirmed a fourth season will arrive in fall 2025.
