The video starts by showing Chewbacca’s tangled fur being brushed and combed. When he first came out of the box, his fur was so messy he looked more like Cousin Itt than the Wookiee we know! Next, the creator added paint around Chewie’s eyes and rearranged the fur to hide the lines where pieces were joined on his nose. The biggest improvement came with his bandolier – the original materials were decent, but M.M Prop Shop used fabric paint and leather to make it look much better. Finally, they replaced Chewbacca’s base to give him a more Imperial-themed look instead of a plain one.
The life-sized Chewbacca figure didn’t originally include his iconic bowcaster – it came with a candy cane and Santa hat since it was designed as a Christmas decoration! To complete the look, M.M. Prop Shop used 3D printing to create the missing weapon. With a little extra care, this Chewbacca figure is now impressive enough to display any time of year. We absolutely love it!
