Tokyo Game Show is underway, meaning lots of game news and reveals are happening this week. We’ve already heard from Capcom and Kojima Productions, and Sony joined in with their own ‘State of Play’ presentation. While it included over a dozen announcements, the presentation was relatively low-key overall, though there were a few interesting reveals.
Here’s a summary of everything revealed during the September 2025 PlayStation State of Play. We’ve included all the trailers, and you can watch the full presentation yourself at the link below if you prefer.
First Saros gameplay trailer and release date
Housemarque recently released a gameplay trailer for their upcoming game, Saros, which was first announced in February. While the trailer offered a glimpse of the game, it was relatively short. Saros is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 on March 20, 2026.
Zero Parades trailer
ZA/UM, the creators of Disco Elysium, recently revealed a new trailer for their next game, Zero Parades. While it shares a similar look and feel to Disco Elysium, almost none of the original development team are involved this time around. The game is currently slated for release in 2026 and will likely be available on multiple platforms.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 coming to PS5
Microsoft is increasingly becoming a game developer for platforms beyond its own, and the upcoming release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PlayStation 5 on December 8, 2025, is another example of this shift. Interestingly, it was the only new game for PSVR2 announced at the recent State of Play event, highlighting the limited number of new VR titles expected for the platform in 2025.
Battlefield 6 single-player trailer
Apparently, the next Battlefield game will feature both a single-player story and the usual multiplayer action. I was actually wondering if it would, and briefly thought it might be a Call of Duty game! The trailer showed a lot of intense military action, and the gameplay looks promising. Just a reminder, Battlefield is scheduled to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 10, 2025.
Deus Ex Remastered announcement
This is a refreshed version of the beloved stealth game, Deus Ex. While the visuals have been significantly updated, it still looks good. The team at Aspyr, known for their recent remasters of classic Tomb Raider games, is working on it, so expectations are high for its February 5, 2025 release.
Halloween: The Game release date
Halloween: The Game, made by the same team behind Friday the 13th: The Game, will be released on September 8, 2026. With the release still a ways off, you’ll have time to recharge before diving into another asymmetrical multiplayer horror experience.
Last Epoch coming to PS5
Last Epoch, a popular action RPG similar to Diablo where you collect loot and battle enemies, is expanding to PlayStation 5. While a specific release date hasn’t been announced, the game will launch alongside the new Orobyss expansion.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin release date
The video game ‘The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin,’ based on the popular anime, is now scheduled to launch on January 28, 2026. While slightly delayed from its original 2025 target, the new date is acceptable, and the game appears promising.
Mega Man is coming to Sonic Racing Crossworlds
Sonic Racing Crossworlds, the newest game in the Sonic Racing series, is getting downloadable content (DLC) featuring characters from the Mega Man universe sometime next year. This DLC will include playable versions of Mega Man and Proto Man, a car based on Rush, and a track inspired by Mega Man. They’ll join other guest characters already available or planned as DLC, like Hatsune Miku, Pac-Man, Spongebob Squarepants, and Minecraft Steve.
Nioh 3 release date
Nioh 3 is officially launching on February 6, 2026, though details appeared online a bit earlier than expected when a Japanese store mistakenly listed the game. The trailer confirmed it’s a brand new installment in the Nioh series.
Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered announcement
The popular action game Dynasty Warriors 3, which holds a special place for me as my first experience with the series, is receiving a beautiful remaster. It’s been completely updated, so you’d hardly recognize its PlayStation 2 roots, and I’m excited to play it when it releases on March 19, 2026.
Code Vein 2 release date
In addition to the news about Nioh 3, Bandai Namco also showcased Code Vein 2. The trailer began with a prominent anime character and revealed the game will be released on January 20, 2026.
Let It Die: Inferno announcement
A new installment in the Let It Die series is coming out on December 3, 2025. Following the original game and the battle royale spin-off, Deathverse, this one is described as a challenging action game where you’ll fight both enemies and other players in a constantly changing world.
Chronoscript: The Endless End announcement
Shueisha Games and Deskworks are releasing a new game called Chronoscript: The Endless End. It has a charming, hand-drawn art style reminiscent of storybooks. Based on the trailer, the game appears to be a 2D action-adventure with exploration elements – similar to the ‘metroidvania’ genre – and is scheduled for release in 2026.
Crimson Desert release date
Crimson Desert, the open-world RPG we’ve been anticipating for years, is now scheduled to release on March 19, 2026. While it faced a delay earlier this year, the game still looks impressive and promises a huge, engaging world, making it a title to watch.
Pulse Elevate wireless speakers announcement
Sony is releasing new wireless speakers called the Pulse Elevate, and their unique cone shape is reminiscent of a reimagined PS5. They work with PlayStation 5, PCs, and Macs using a USB dongle, and will connect directly to the PS Portal handheld without one. While it’s unusual to pair speakers with a portable device, these are designed to be taken on the go thanks to their built-in battery. They also offer Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to connect both a dongle and a Bluetooth device simultaneously. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but they’re expected to be expensive and will be available in 2026.
Gran Turismo series sells 100 million units, and GT7 is getting a new update
As of June 2025, Sony announced that the Gran Turismo racing series has surpassed 100 million copies sold – a remarkable achievement for any game franchise. Plus, a new Spec III update, featuring additional cars and tracks, will be released in December.
God of War 20th Anniversary Dualsense controller announcement
To mark 20 years of the God of War series, Sony is releasing a limited-edition Dualsense controller instead of a new game or a classic collection. The controller is primarily white with a red stripe on the right side, mirroring the mark on Kratos’ face. It will be available for pre-order on October 3rd for $84.99, but won’t be delivered until October 23rd.
