“I Have Seen the Future”: A Cross-Cultural Collaboration by Jahan Loh and Billionaire Boys Club

Summary

  • Presented by Co-Museum, Jahan Loh’s art is merged with Billionaire Boys Club and ACU’s streetwear flair in a new “I Have Seen the Future” capsule
  • It pairs art with interactive sculptures that imagine the future while honoring tradition

Artist Jahan Loh is launching a unique clothing collection next week at Le Freeport. Created in collaboration with Pharrell’s Billionaire Boys Club, Shanghai’s ACU, and Singapore’s Co-Museum, the collection – titled “I Have Seen the Future” – blends traditional Chinese star charts with modern streetwear. It uses symbolic designs from the past to create comfortable, contemporary clothing, and aims to explore how fashion can connect us to memories and inspire our vision of the future.

The exhibition, put together by ARTCEO, showcases Jahan Loh’s paintings and sketches alongside brand-new, interactive sculptures. These sculptures project constellations onto clothing, creating pieces that are both beautifully shaped and practical to wear. The designs blend the idea of collapsing star charts with modern street fashion. According to Loh, by incorporating constellations into the fabric, they’re not simply creating clothes – they’re illustrating a journey, and highlighting the connection between the extraordinary and the ordinary.

Tom Chung, who founded ACU, explains that the collection deeply connects to culture, stating, “Every stitch represents both our history and future possibilities.” Chaw Weiyang, Co-CEO of the museum, notes that this collaboration brings culture into everyday life by allowing people to wear and live with their heritage. Together, ACU and the museum demonstrate how fashion can celebrate traditions while also looking forward to innovation.
