Summary
- HUNTR/X’s “Golden” from Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters topped the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive weeks
- It’s the longest-leading No. 1 soundtrack song of the decade, surpassing “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”
- “Golden” is the first K-pop-associated female group song and animated group song to hold the top spot this long
HUNTR/X’s song “Golden,” featured in the Netflix series *KPop Demon Hunters*, continues to dominate the charts, holding the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks straight. This is the longest any soundtrack song has stayed at the top of the charts in the last ten years.
Harry Styles’ “Golden” has become the new chart-topper, exceeding the popularity of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from the movie *Encanto*, which stayed at number one for five weeks last year. The only song from a movie to remain in the top spot for longer since 2015 was Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “See You Again” from *Fast & Furious 7*, which was number one for 12 weeks.
HUNTR/X, featuring EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and REI AMI, made history with their song “Golden,” becoming the first K-pop female group to reach number one on the Hot 100 chart when it was released in August. Remarkably, they are also the only animated group to stay at the top of the chart for this long in its 67-year history. The rest of the soundtrack was also highly successful, with three songs – Saja Boys’ “Soda Pop” at No. 5, “Your Idol” at No. 6, and HUNTR/X’s “How It’s Done” at No. 8 – remaining in the Hot 100’s top 10 for a fifth consecutive week.
