FromSoftware’s latest update for *Elden Ring*, called Deep of Night Nightreign, is proving to be quite challenging. While some players who’ve already conquered the Everdark Sovereigns are enjoying the increased difficulty, others struggling with earlier parts of the game might find it frustrating.
We’re releasing an update soon that lets you push your Depth level one step further. We’re also adding a new feature to prevent you from immediately dropping a level after losing in Depths 3, 4, or 5. In Depth 3, you’ll have one loss forgiven. Depths 4 and 5 will let you lose twice before dropping. And don’t worry, this isn’t a one-time benefit – losing and then climbing back up will reset these protections, so you can use them again.
As a big fan of the game, I’m really happy to hear that FromSoftware is making things fairer in the invasions! They’ve said that if you’re a lower-level invader (Depth 1) and get matched with someone much higher ranked (Depth 2 or above), you won’t lose any points if you get defeated. Plus, they fixed a frustrating bug where your rank wouldn’t actually change even after you *won* a match. It’s great to see them listening to the community and making these improvements!
We’ll share the release date for the patch soon. *Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree* is available now on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and more downloadable content is planned for later in the year.
