The rubber chicken used to be a classic prop for comedians in the days of Vaudeville, but now it’s often seen as a symbol of corny, old-fashioned humor. Surprisingly, they’re still made and people are still buying them! Just recently, someone created a funny internet video from 2025 featuring a person dressed as Darth Vader “playing” rubber chickens to the tune of John Williams’ famous “Imperial March” theme. The video comes from the YouTube channel *Vinheteiro*, which usually posts piano performances, but also enjoys creating silly, lighthearted shorts like this one.
Okay, I have to say, this video made me laugh! It’s amazing how those little toy chickens actually play the iconic music from *The Empire Strikes Back*. But as a huge *Star Wars* fan, I’m a little bothered by one thing. Seeing Darth Vader just toss all the rubber chickens off the table? That doesn’t seem right! It feels more like something Kylo Ren would do in *The Force Awakens* – a total temper tantrum. Darth Vader is intimidating; he’d just use the Force to choke you without all the dramatic throwing. He’s not a bratty Sith Lord!
This rubber chicken symphony isn’t the only one from the Vinheteiro channel. They’ve also created a version of James Horner’s famous theme from Titanic, and even Bonnie Tyler’s ’80s hit, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” – which sounds surprisingly accurate! It makes you wonder what other classic scores they could tackle. We can almost hear rubber chicken renditions of Superman, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Jaws, and E.T. – and we expect they’ll arrive soon!
