XLIM’s newest collection, EP. 8, explores the quiet beauty that follows vibrant growth. Building on the colorful energy of their Summer EP. 7 line, designer Dohee Kim has created a more streamlined and sophisticated collection for Fall, focusing on simplicity and elegance rather than elaborate details.
The new XLIM collection, titled “After the Bloom,” showcases a more refined and grown-up style for the brand. A key piece is a photo of a worn black leather coat paired with a cream-colored Western hat. Many of the jackets feature a simple, empty patch on the back, a detail reminiscent of the work of designers like Martin Margiela and his focus on deconstruction.
The collection features subtle pops of color, like a peach gradient on a jacket and pants, paired with an aqua headscarf. But the main focus is on silhouette and detail, highlighted by striking black and white photography – including a menswear look with a leather jacket and faded denim. Many outfits are entirely black, with layered pieces like knitwear, hooded denim jackets, puffers, headscarves, gloves, and sunglasses. A new lightweight jacket, the Detroit, combines leather and cotton padding.
