Veuve Clicquot and Simon Porte Jacquemus Threw a Fête in Central Park in Celebration of Their New Collaboration

Just before New York Fashion Week began, Veuve Clicquot and Simon Porte Jacquemus celebrated French style in Central Park. They revealed a special partnership, giving the La Grande Dame 2018 champagne a fresh, playful makeover designed by Simon Jacquemus.

Okay, so I went to this amazing party at the Central Park Boathouse – seriously, the setting was gorgeous with tons of green everywhere. They had these bright yellow Veuve Clicquot decorations which looked really cool against the natural backdrop, and you could even see the Manhattan skyline in the distance. It was called ‘Le Pique-Nique Sur L’eau’ – basically a fancy picnic on the water – and a ton of famous people were there, like Julia Roberts, Imaan Hammam, Solange Knowles, and Emma Roberts, plus some actors I recognized like Charlotte Le Bon and Toby Wallace. It was a pretty star-studded event!

Guests were greeted with a unique experience: a performance by musicians from Carnegie Hall right on Central Park Lake – the first one there in nearly nine decades. Afterwards, they dined at tables shaded by Veuve Clicquot awnings and enjoyed a meal prepared by Chef Alexia Duchêne.

According to Simon Porte Jacquemus, La Grande Dame 2018 was created with simple elements, heartfelt actions, and the inspiring stories of strong women, ultimately meant to celebrate positive and unforgettable experiences. Jean-Marc Gallot, CEO of Veuve Clicquot, explained that Central Park was chosen as the ideal location to honor the common beliefs of Veuve Clicquot and Simon Porte Jacquemus, set within one of the world’s most dynamic and creative cities.

From September 10th to 14th, New Yorkers and those visiting for New York Fashion Week can enjoy a special experience called Le Pique-Nique Sur L’eau. You can find more details about this event at veuveclicquot.com.
