After a large leak in 2023 showed plans for a *Venom* game, a new report confirms the project is currently being developed. It will include popular characters like Eddie Brock, Carnage, and Anti-Venom.
Development Status
According to mp1st.com, Insomniac Games is still in the early stages of developing a Venom game, following their update on the Wolverine game. Because Wolverine is their current focus, Venom is likely being planned and designed, but hasn’t entered full production yet.
Eddie Brock as Venom
According to sources, Eddie Brock will be the main character players control in the game. While many expected this after the story of *Spider-Man 2*, it confirms that other characters, such as Flash Thompson (who becomes Agent Venom in the comics) or an entirely new character, won’t be the primary focus.
This new version of Eddie Brock is designed to be more like the character from the comics, rather than the way Tom Hardy portrayed him in the movies.
Villains and Other Symbiotes
Most sources predict Cletus Kasady, the villain known as Carnage, will be the primary antagonist in the upcoming game. This expectation is supported by information revealed in a 2023 data leak, which included internal presentations referencing Carnage.
There’s talk that the game will include Anti-Venom, but it won’t be the version associated with Peter Parker. Instead, it’ll be the more frightening, monstrous form from the comic books, which Eddie Brock eventually transforms into. Unlike Peter, Eddie is said to be fully in control while using Anti-Venom.
Spider-Man 2099 Appearance
Rumors suggest Miguel O’Hara, also known as Spider-Man 2099, might appear in an upcoming project. However, it’s currently unconfirmed exactly what role he’ll play, and reports indicate he could be in *Spider-Man 3* rather than the *Venom* game.

When will the Venom video game be released?
According to the report, the Venom video game was initially intended to launch by the end of this year, but now it’s expected to be released in 2027.
