When I want to express my hope for someone’s discomfort without being overtly malicious, my go-to expression is often “I hope they step on a LEGO with their bare feet.” This feeling is one that many of us can relate to, as it’s highly unpleasant and annoying rather than excruciating. It’s hard for me to comprehend why there is a Guinness World Record category for the fastest sprint across LEGO bricks, but it does exist, and we have a new champion in this peculiar competition. In Christchurch, New Zealand, Gabrielle Wall astonishingly broke the Guinness World Record for the quickest 100 meter dash over LEGO bricks, completing it in an impressive 24.75 seconds. You can watch her glide effortlessly across those potentially uncomfortable blocks in the video below. Despite concerns about her feet enduring the pain, she appears to be unscathed and unfazed by the experience.
The class is utilizing 661 pounds of LEGOs generously donated by Imagination Station, a charitable organization in New Zealand that employs these iconic building blocks for educational purposes with children.
One thing is for sure: I have no desire to come for her record.
