The latest Pokemon, Malamar, is set to get a new Mega Evolution which will be showcased in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This exciting news has been hinted at throughout the week on Pokémon’s social media platforms, featuring snippets of conversations expressing affection for Malamar and using the “My Friend Malamar” tagline.
In the brief introductory segment, we witnessed a news broadcast discussing these individuals, revealing that an extraordinary Mega Malamar had been using its hypnotic abilities to captivate them. As time passed, we managed to get a clearer view of it. The body was smaller than typical for a Malamar, but the arms transformed into longer tentacles. Moreover, the hair-like tentacles on its head grew significantly larger. Additionally, the hypnotic radiance had shifted from golden to a vibrant rainbow hue.
Malamar has been added to the list of Pokemon that have new Megas unveiled thus far, including Hawlucha, Victreebel, and Dragonite. It’s likely that more will be revealed in the upcoming weeks as we approach the launch date of Pokémon Legends: Z-A on October 16, 2025.
