Enthusiasts have been anticipating a fresh live-action version of Street Fighter for several decades now, since the 1994 film featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raúl Juliá, Kylie Minogue, and Ming-Na Wen that was quite humorous.
I’m thrilled to share that at last, Legendary Pictures has unveiled the main cast and scheduled release date for the highly anticipated adaptation we’ve all been eagerly waiting for!
Check out the promo images below.
Plot Details
The upcoming movie is set in 1993. The long-separated Street Fighters Ryu, portrayed by Andrew Koji, and Ken Masters, played by Noah Centineo, are once again drawn into battle when the enigmatic Chun-Li (Callina Liang) calls upon them for participation in the next World Warrior Tournament – a fierce contest involving fistfights, destiny, and rage.
Beneath the spectacle of the Battle Royale, there’s a lethal plot at work, compelling competitors to engage in combat with one another as well as confront their personal demons. If they fail, the outcome is inevitably their downfall-in other words, “the game is over” for them.
