A Zombie Grabber Haunts Us in the BLACK PHONE 2 Trailer

As a devoted cinephile, I must confess that the trailer for Black Phone 2 sent a shiver down my spine! The ominous promise of a chilling new setting is enough to make one’s hair stand on end, but it’s the return of Ethan Hawke’s terrifying character, The Grabber, in an even more unsettling form that really gets under my skin. This time around, he appears to be the undead embodiment of fear, and let me tell you, I’m not a fan!

The way his voice echoes once again in the Black Phone 2 trailer, sending shivers up my spine and signaling the arrival of pure terror – it’s a sound that is all too familiar yet still manages to send a chill down my very core. So, buckle up, fellow horror enthusiasts, because I have a feeling that this sequel promises to be every bit as nerve-wracking as its predecessor!

The plot summary for “The Black Phone 2” provides a good idea of what the sequel might be about. However, words alone can’t convey the chilling effect that the movie’s trailer has. So, we strongly recommend that you watch it (and perhaps rewatch it if you’re feeling daring).

Here’s what The Black Phone 2‘s synopsis lets us know:

Four years past, at thirteen, Finn murdered his kidnapper and managed to free himself, leaving him as the lone survivor of “The Grabber” case. However, true malevolence surpasses mortality… and once more, the telephone is ringing.

Four-time Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke reprises his darkest role yet, as the malevolent spirit of The Grabber torments Finn (Mason Thames) posthumously by harassing Finn’s younger sister, Gwen (Madeleine McGraw).

At seventeen, Finn grapples with post-captivity life, while headstrong fifteen-year-old Gwen starts experiencing mysterious calls in her dreams on a black phone and horrifying visions of three boys being pursued at a chilly winter camp called Alpine Lake.

With a firm resolve to solve the puzzle and ease the suffering for herself and her brother, Gwen manages to convince Finn to journey to the camp amidst a fierce winter storm. It is there that she uncovers a chilling connection between The Grabber and her own family’s past. Hand-in-hand, they will have to face an adversary who has grown stronger in death and turned out to be far more important to them than either could have anticipated.

A meeting or connection between The Grabber and Finn’s family? That’s not something we’re fond of. And we dislike the idea of The Grabber growing stronger after death, even less so. The dangers shown in the trailer for Black Phone 2 seem ominous, hinting at a more extensive plot. We are both scared and eager to discover more when Black Phone 2 hits theaters on October 17.
