In interviews after the event, the renowned martial artist and actor casually shared that he had visited the UK to see his team, Jackie Chan’s Stunt Team, who were serving as second-unit action directors for Marvel’s newest Spider-Man film, overseeing action scenes and essential shots not involving the principal cast and crew.
Chan Visits His Team on Set
As a movie enthusiast, I found myself traveling to the bustling city of London for both business meetings and an exciting opportunity. The main event was a visit to the set where my trusted stunt team was hard at work filming the highly anticipated Spider-Man. In my role, I served as a spectator, eagerly watching their intricate rehearsals function as action directors.
Chan mentioned that director Destin Daniel Cretton was thrilled to meet him, but what’s amusing is that the original translation suggests Cretton was taken aback, perhaps even feeling a bit flustered and shaken, upon learning it was Chan’s stunt group he was encountering.
Chan remarked, ‘As soon as the director spotted me, he became agitated and began to quiver, suddenly understanding that the whole group I thought was his was actually mine!’
In simpler terms, other translations suggest that Chan emphasized to Cretton that the film’s direction was his (Chan’s) team’s work, which is why Cretton was caught off guard by this fact.

The movie titled ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ features Tom Holland, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Sadie Sink, and Jon Bernthal. There are rumors of appearances by Mark Ruffalo and others. The film is set to be released in theaters on July 31st, 2026.
