Larry David’s Take: Dogecoin’s PoS Debate is Annoying 🤷‍♂️

So, I was just minding my own business when I saw Dogecoin founder Billy Markus, aka Shibetoshi Nakamoto on X, chiming in on the whole PoS vs. PoW debate. 🤔

Dogecoin Staying Put, Apparently

Markus basically said, “Hey, this debate is driving me nuts.” He thinks switching to PoS would just split the community and create a bunch of different Dogecoins. Like we need more of those, right? 😂

i think the chatter about changing the consensus algorithm of dogecoin from PoW to PoS is annoying

all it would do is fracture the community and cause a fork resulting in multiple dogecoins, the chaos isn’t worth it

Of course, the PoS supporters say it fixes PoW’s problems and makes Dogecoin better for global use. They point to Ethereum‘s success and the trend towards greener blockchains. But hey, who cares about that? 🌱

Dogecoin Foundation Director Timothy Stebbing had a more measured response. He said they’re just trying to look at all the tech stuff objectively for the good of the coin. They even made something called Dogebox for testing out new ideas. 🛠️

But Stebbing admitted it’s kind of a pissing contest, and he’s calling it quits. He said, “The community seems fine with 40 transactions a second, so why bother?” Good point, Tim. 🙃

Dogecoin Whales on the Move

Meanwhile, the big dogs (get it?) have been moving around a lot of DOGE. One whale pulled out 52.9 million DOGE, which is like, what, $12 million? 🤑

Another whale sent 500 million DOGE to Binance, causing some panic. But guess what? DOGE is still trending up, with a 2.6% increase in the last 24 hours. Trading volume is up 14.4% to $2.4 billion. So, it’s all good, I guess. 📈
