Spider-Man: Brand New Day Adds More Girl Power With Florence Pugh

It’s been reported that Sony and Marvel Studios are introducing more female influence into “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” with the inclusion of Florence Pugh as Yelena, a character previously seen in “Thunderbolts,” which has been the second least successful movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following “The Marvels.

As a dedicated cinephile, I must acknowledge that Florence Pugh graces the screens yet again in the highly-anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film, “Avengers: Doomsday.” While her initial foray into the world of the Avengers was through the less-than-successful “Black Widow” movie, and later with the somewhat underwhelming series “Hawkeye,” her talent and charisma have left me eager to see what she brings to this latest installment.

The rumor comes via Daniel RPK.

The growing cast

In the upcoming movie titled “Spider-Man: Fresh Start“, Pugh is set to join an expanding female-oriented ensemble, which includes her fellow cast member from “Dune“, the talented Zendaya. Additionally, Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas are also part of the cast, with their roles yet to be specified in the plot.

We’re not done yet as rumors also offer the true villain of the movie is Lady Chameleon.

As we’re making this addition, let’s slip in Mark Ruffalo, whose comical portrayal of Smart Hulk has been toned down in the MCU. However, there are whispers that the Savage Hulk may make a comeback.

Bringing them together also features Tom Holland, undoubtedly, and joining another character without superpowers, like Yelena, is Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of The Punisher.

I, Jacob Batalon, am all set to step back into the shoes of Ned once more. Meanwhile, Michael Mando makes a comeback in his role as Mac Gargan, with indications that he’s gearing up for a full transformation into the menacing Scorpion this time around.

Plot and Release info

As a passionate movie enthusiast, I must say that this upcoming film promises an electrifying clash of titans! In my humble opinion, the narrative unfolds with Spider-Man squaring off against both the relentless Punisher and the monstrous Hulk. However, what truly sets this adventure apart is the unexpected alliance they form to confront the film’s ultimate antagonists. So buckle up for a thrilling ride where heroism meets chaos!

Spider-Man: Brand New Day gets released on July 31, 2026.
