Jared Leto Officially Out As Joker: James Gunn’s Peacemaker Makes It Clear

It’s now undeniable that Jared Leto will not reprise his Joker role anymore, as evident from the first episode of Peacemaker Season 2.

The episode contains three hidden nods to Jared Leto, without explicitly mentioning him. John Cena’s character Peacemaker expresses dislike for the band Thirty Seconds To Mars, which is actually fronted by Leto in real life. His wife, director James Gunn’s spouse, Jennifer Holland, concurs. For added emphasis, during the end credits, Gunn reinforces their disdain for Thirty Seconds To Mars.

The context

In the past, James Gunn made allegations about Jared Leto being involved with underage individuals. In May 2018, Dylan Sprouse, a former Disney actor, claimed that Leto had a history of dating women who were between 18 and 25 years old. Gunn responded to the claim by tweeting, “He starts dating at 18 online?

In 2015, during a live Periscope broadcast, Gunn reportedly spoke about Leto, comments that were subsequently removed. As per several reports back then, Gunn addressed gossip surrounding Leto’s private life, which involved questionable allegations involving minors, although these claims remained unsubstantiated.

The recent allegations against Leto

Last June, accusations surfaced against me involving questionable behavior towards minors and explicit misconduct. Several women have asserted that I initiated contact with them when they were just 16 or 17, engaging in late-night conversations containing explicit content. Others have shared accounts of personal encounters, including allegations of exposing myself, masturbating in front of a young woman, and pressuring sexual acts.

Leto no longer the DC joker

James Gunn is planning to reunite several actors and characters from the DCEU in the DCU, such as the Peacemaker cast, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and possibly Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. However, Jared Leto will not be reprising his role as DC’s Joker.
