The latest update for P5X, Version 1.4, is now available, marking the final step before Version 2.0 arrives with an expansion of the main story in about two weeks. In the interim, players can explore fresh gameplay elements, a brand-new Phantom Idol, engaging events, and encounter intriguing new characters.
There’s a bunch to break down, so here’s our roundup of everything new in P5X’s Version 1.4 update.
New Phantom Idol – Yumi Shiina (Phoebe)
In the latest update, Yumi joined the game as a Synergy Bond character, now making her an official playable Phantom Idol. As a Navi unit, her role is to support the party. She specializes in skills that boost the attack power of both herself and the party members during combat. By leveraging her own attack strength, she enhances not only her attack but also the damage dealt by the entire team, significantly increasing their overall power.
Her Banner will be active until September 22, 2025.
New Synergy Bond – Ayaka Sakai (Chord)
In the latest update of Yumi’s Synergy story, a fresh character named Ayaka Sakai has been introduced. Often spotted strumming her guitar at Station Square in Shibuya, she’ll now have her own storyline for you to follow. In the upcoming 2.0 update, she will transition into becoming a Phantom Idol, known as Chord. Given her popularity and impressive character traits within the game, it’s highly recommended that you start saving your in-game currency if you haven’t already, to acquire this outstanding character.
Mindscape Thief Training
A fresh feature has been implemented to enhance your Phantom Idols beyond their existing strength: The Mindscape. In this area, you can bestow them with permanent stat upgrades, similar to the schema enhancements available for the protagonist. To activate these upgrades, you’ll need to accumulate Stardust Shards. You will receive a set amount of these daily, determined by the total number of stars you have earned from all Velvet Trials.
Trial of Thorns event
Starting today and lasting until September 8th, join the Trial of Thorns, a demanding battle mode featuring challenging bosses! To begin, you’ll need to conquer them in the standard difficulty setting. Once you’ve triumphed there, you’ll unlock the custom difficulty mode for even more rewards. The battles offer Meta Jewels, Revelation Cards, and Joy Medals as prizes, making it definitely worth giving it a shot!
New Metro of Desire route
In simple terms, the desire-themed subway system in your game has been extended, providing a fresh track for you to explore the roguelike combat mode. This new track offers eight levels of challenge, unique missions with novel bosses, charms, and misplaced items to gather. Moreover, the limit on Route Goals is rising – it now goes up to 130, and another jump to 150 is planned for August 27th.
