Tramell Tillman is transitioning from theater roles to cinema, as he’s now part of the ensemble for “Spider-Man: Fresh Start,” a forthcoming film by Sony and Marvel Studios, according to Variety’s announcement.
As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been secretly tapped for a role in the upcoming project, where I’ll have the privilege of co-starring alongside the phenomenal Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Zendaya in her character M.J. Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and the mighty Mark Ruffalo portraying the Hulk. Additionally, I’ll be sharing the screen with the talented Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas in intriguing new roles that are yet to be revealed. The anticipation is palpable!
The upcoming superhero flick, titled “Spider-Man: A Fresh Start,” is a collaboration between Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios. This new movie featuring the iconic web-slinger will be distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It’s set to join the ranks as the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, continuing the Spider-Man story within this universe, following the release of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in 2021.
In this case, Destin Daniel Cretton takes on the role of director, with scripts penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Additionally, Michael Mando and Tramell Tillman join the existing stars to complete the cast.
This version maintains the original meaning while using more conversational language that could be easier for a wider audience to understand.
The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film is slated for release in U.S. theaters on July 31, 2026, during Phase Six. Filming under the code name “Blue Oasis” commenced on August 3, 2025, in Glasgow, Scotland. Brett Pawlak will once again serve as cinematographer, having collaborated with Cretton on multiple past productions. The initial plan was to start shooting earlier in 2025; however, the schedule was adjusted to accommodate Tom Holland’s involvement in another project titled “The Odyssey”.
The shooting in Glasgow occurred throughout the city center, spanning areas such as Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate, effectively substituting for New York City. Holland voiced his enthusiasm about returning to on-location filming, mentioning that it brought back memories from making Homecoming following the fact that most of No Way Home was filmed in soundstages due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He shared that he was delighted for fans to witness the start of filming with the cast and crew.
Photos taken in Glasgow featured armored vehicles bearing a red demon emblem, reminiscent of the Inner Demons gang led by Mister Negative from the comics, potentially hinting at the villain’s appearance in the upcoming film. According to Paul Trainer of Glasgow World, a reference statue resembling a rhinoceros head on set could imply that the villain Rhino might be part of the movie as well.
As a dedicated film enthusiast, I was thrilled to learn that filming occurred not just within the confines of a studio, but also at the Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey, London, on August 7. The magic continued, as Glasgow shoots extended their schedule all the way until August 26 for a commercial venture. To top it off, more exciting work is set to take place at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England, within the soundstages that promise even greater cinematic wonders!
