During Monterey Car Week, RUF unveiled their Tribute model – a contemporary supercar that embodies a fresh air-cooled engine design, as a tribute to the 911 and Porsche’s six-decade legacy on this renowned automotive platform.

The heart of it is a self-developed 3.6L twin-turbo flat-six engine by RUF, boasting four-cam technology, adjustable cam timing, adjustable valve lift, and three-valve cylinder heads. This fusion of contemporary power with the distinctive personality of vintage air-cooled engines yields an impressive output of 550 hp and 553 lb-ft torque, transmitted via a seven-speed manual transmission.

The engine is housed inside a nimble carbon-fiber frame, upholding RUF’s legacy of groundbreaking design through cutting-edge engineering. With a rev limit of 6,750 rpm and a noise that echoes Porsche’s history, the Tribute strives to deliver a thrilling yet polished ride experience centering on feel, responsiveness, and emotional bonding.

As the company pointed out, the distinctive sound of the air-cooled engine behind you contributes uniquely to the modern RUF collection. It seamlessly combines elements of traditional automotive charm with cutting-edge present-day technology, resulting in a one-of-a-kind supercar.

At Monterey Car Week, the Tribute shared the spotlight with the powerful 800 hp CTR3 EVO and the first custom-made RUF Rodeo, demonstrating that there’s still a thriving appreciation for traditional, analog automobiles.
