Europa Universalis 5 release date revealed for PC

On November 4, 2025, the latest installment in the Europa Universalis series by Paradox Interactive, titled Europa Universalis 5, is set to launch exclusively on personal computers.

Published by the studio Tinto from the same company, this epic strategy game combines aspects reminiscent of its previous titles such as Imperator: Rome, Victoria 3, and Crusader Kings 3, marking one of Paradox’s boldest ventures into the strategy game genre to date.

In the year 1337, one could hypothetically seize control of any nation’s government across the globe in EU5, navigating its course towards success or disaster. The game’s simulation is anchored by complex trade and demographic systems, which lend gravity to historical events like epidemics and conflicts. Each nation, including your own, houses distinct factions with their unique agendas, making EU5 a formidable test for potential leaders as they often find themselves contending with internal resistance in addition to external adversaries.

For seasoned series participants, Europa Universalis V offers a highly sophisticated automation feature that allows players to delegate certain or even all aspects of governing to the AI, providing them with more control and making gameplay less daunting.

The Standard Edition of EU5 will cost $59.99 USD. A Premium Edition, which comes with two Chronicle Packs and one Immersion Pack, along with immediate cosmetic rewards, is priced at $84.99 USD. Pre-ordering the game gives you access to an MP3 collection of Europa Universalis 4’s soundtrack.
