Perrie Edwards Says Zayn Malik Relationship Was ‘Toxic’, Little Mix Felt Frustrated: ‘I’m Done With Men’

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it as follows: The love story between Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik, two stars from rival groups, has captivated many. However, their breakup, fueled by rumors of Zayn ending their engagement via text message, was the talk of the town online. Now, Perrie has shared insights into their past relationship, revealing that the experience left her considering a lifetime of singleness due to the agony she felt from heartbreak.

In an intimate conversation with Paul C Brunson on his We Need To Talk podcast, I, Perrie Edwards, opened up about my past relationship – one that was undeniably linked to Zayn Malik, even though neither of us mentioned names during our chat. The media frenzy surrounding the two of us started when we were paired on X Factor back in 2012. After a whirlwind romance lasting three years, Zayn and I chose to part ways, a decision that has been heavily documented in the public eye.

Looking back on the challenging period of her life and recognizing that the dynamics of her relationship with another young person were off in numerous aspects, she admitted, “At the time, I believed everything we went through together was typical. Since it was my initial relationship and first encounter with love.” Unaware of any red flags until it was too late to rectify, she acknowledged, “I guess I thought, ‘This seems to be what a relationship should feel like. It’s supposed to have a hint of toxicity in certain ways.’

After experiencing the turbulent ending of our relationship, I found myself pondering deeply, “I almost swore off ever going through something like that again. The thought of meeting anyone new seemed daunting and unnecessary. I felt, at that moment, I had reached my limit. The agony of heartbreak was so intense that I recall promising myself I would steer clear of men forever.

Back then, I found myself often reflecting on how it impacted my bond with my teammates, as our actions seemed to revolve around him. It likely felt aggravating for them, constantly being questioned about it by others.

Perrie Edwards has since gotten engaged to footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
