Sakurai’s talk was typically thorough, culminating in the eagerly anticipated unveiling: Kirby Air Rider is slated for release on November 20, 2025.
It seems the release of the new game, Air Riders by Nintendo, is slightly later than initially anticipated, with many predicting a September or October launch. However, considering it’s nearly Thanksgiving and Black Friday, it isn’t surprising that they chose this specific date for the release. Given Kirby is a popular family-friendly franchise, and Air Riders appears to be an excellent gift option, the timing seems fitting.
The Direct presentation clearly showcases that Sakurai, his company Sora, and Bandai Namco poured their heart and soul into Kirby Air Rider. This new edition offers many more vehicles and playable characters than the original GameCube version, and it boasts a complex racing and combat system with great depth.
Among the notable additions, every figure – whether it’s Kirby or his companions or adversaries – now has the ability to adopt copied skills. This opens up the opportunity for almost any character to grab a sword cap or a fire tiara and engage in combat against opponents. Additionally, characters are no longer confined to specific vehicles, and each one showcases unique racing styles, fighting moves, and special attacks. As a result, players can create a myriad of combinations.
