According to our predictions, Krypto the Superdog stole the show in James Gunn’s Superman. People all over the world fell head-over-heels for the mischievous yet endearing Steel Canine. Given this popular response, it comes as no surprise that DC Studios is leveraging Krypto’s new fame through a series of animated shorts titled Krypto Saves the Day!. Although we’re unsure if these are part of the DC Universe continuity (DCU), if they are, this marks the second time David Corenswet’s Superman has appeared in the DCU. However, it’s just a brief cameo, as we only catch him sipping coffee and daydreaming at home with Krypto. So, watch out for your dog, Clark!

Episode List:

2. Krypto Comes to the Rescue! – Package Pandemonium (Debuting in 2022)
3. Krypto Comes to the Rescue! – Coastal Catastrophe (Part 4, Debuting in 2026)
In my opinion, I’ve seen quite a few iterations of Krypto throughout the years as an animated hero. He made his debut on the Saturday morning cartoon show, “The Adventures of Superboy.” Later, he was the star in his own series, “Krypto the Superdog,” on Cartoon Network, and even had a role in “Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too!” Most recently, Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson lent his voice to him in the movie “DC’s League of Super-Pets.” However, this version of Krypto is by far the most mischievous one I’ve encountered. Yet, it only endears him to us even more. For now, these adorable shorts will have to fill the void until we see Krypto again in “Supergirl,” scheduled for June 26, 2026.
