Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon Game Flops on Netflix, Following Likely Franchise Cancellation

It appears that the Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon franchise might be discontinued, and this has added another blow to its future prospects, as the mobile game Blood Line didn’t make it into Netflix’s top played games list.

Rebel Moon’s Game Misses Netflix’s Top 15

Based on information from Variety and statistics gathered by What’s on Netflix, it was found that Rebel Moon: Blood Line, released on July 15, failed to enter the top 15 globally popular Netflix games between May 7 and August 12.

Instead of relying on official numbers from Netflix, these rankings have been compiled by considering which mobile games achieved a “Top 10” designation for global playtime within their application.

Games that were included in the list are “Squid Game: Unleashed”, “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas”, “Football Manager 2024”, and also “World of Peppa Pig”.

Squid Game and Black Mirror Boosted by Shows

Shows connected with popular Netflix series had impressive performances. The releases of Squid Game: Released and Black Mirror: Crowds Gathered saw a surge in gameplay due to the simultaneous premieres of new seasons.

Although Netflix heavily promoted “Rebel Moon”, its related game struggled to gather popularity. This is concerning, particularly considering the lackluster viewership and critical reception of the two films and the absence of plans for further movies at this time.

Another Nail in Rebel Moon’s Coffin?

More recently, Snyder expressed uncertainty to Variety about whether Rebel Moon will continue, and his fellow writer has admitted that the circumstances necessary for more films are highly unlikely.

Now, the game flopping just adds to the mounting evidence that Rebel Moon is done for at Netflix.

Next for Zack Snyder at Netflix is his untitled action thriller about the LA police.
