Delta Air Lines is teaming up with Crunchyroll to offer an exciting experience for anime enthusiasts! According to TheWrap’s report, this collaboration will allow passengers to enjoy a vast collection of around 2,000 anime titles, encompassing over 50,000 episodes and films, amounting to approximately 25,000 hours of content, on more than 169,000 in-flight entertainment screens. So, buckle up for some amazing anime viewing during your flight!
Crunchyroll carefully selects series and films, ensuring a diverse range that includes thrilling action sequences as well as touching romantic stories.
Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll, is thrilled about the prospect of delivering anime for in-flight entertainment. “On a tedious flight, nothing beats getting lost in the intricate storylines and imaginative universes of anime,” he expressed. “Fliers can delve into a single series or catch an episode from numerous series – ranging from action to adventure, romance and beyond. Once they’re captivated, they can seamlessly pick up where they left off using the Crunchyroll app.
The collaboration intends to offer fans an opportunity to immerse themselves in their preferred shows or uncover fresh content while flying with Delta Airlines. For added enjoyment, SkyMiles members who utilize Delta Sync Wi-Fi on their personal devices will receive exclusive benefits, such as a complimentary 24-hour trial for full access to Crunchyroll’s library, which can be utilized during the flight or later, subject to certain conditions and limitations.
In a statement, Julieta McCurry, Delta’s Vice President for In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity, shared that each flight with Delta offers a chance for exploration. Whether you’re new to anime or already hooked on a favorite series, having Crunchyroll aboard means customers can delve into a universe of storytelling during their flight and beyond. This aligns with Delta’s dedication to providing top-tier entertainment that mirrors the tastes and preferences of our passengers.
Crunchyroll, which operates independently as a joint venture between Sony Pictures Entertainment in the U.S. and Aniplex (a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment Japan), has the backing of the Tokyo-based Sony Group. This partnership with Delta Airlines is planned to transform long flights into an exciting experience for anime enthusiasts.
