In the second season of the live-action adaptation of “One Piece,” titled “Into the Grand Line,” the trailer begins and ends with the haunting calls of the giant blue whale, Laboon, from the original anime and manga. In the initial scene of the trailer, we witness the ship Going Merry sailing towards Reverse Mountain, which serves as the gateway to the Grand Line. Given that season two is named “Into the Grand Line,” this detail makes perfect sense. Later in the trailer, we get an exhilarating shot of the Straw Hat crew sliding down the mountain, right towards the gaping maw of the massive Laboon.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel excited about the upcoming live-action adaptation of One Piece! Just like in the original manga, the Straw Hat Pirates are about to embark on their grand journey by being swallowed whole by a whale. It’ll be intriguing to see if this iconic moment will remain intact or if they’ll opt for a more realistic take to adapt the story. Either way, it’s thrilling to catch a glimpse of that whale-sized nod to the One Piece manga in the season two trailer!

Loguetown & Smoker: Live-Action One Piece Season 2 Teases More Time Spent in a Critical Manga Location

Regrettably, Dory was absent from this trailer, but rest assured, he’ll be making an appearance this season too, with Werner Coetser donning the role.

In this live-action “One Piece” season two trailer, although no Baroque Works agents from Little Garden are featured, there’s a subtle nod to David Dastmalchian’s character Mr. 3. This is evident in a brief scene showing Sanji breaking into a wax sculpture hideout on the island, which clearly resembles Mr. 3’s usual hideout structure.
