Anticipation for The Batman: Part II is running high! With the script now finished, director James Gunn has given us an exciting update on the upcoming film. There’s been talk that this new movie could introduce Robin, the sidekick of the Dark Knight, a role previously played by Dick Grayson.
To set the record straight regarding the rumors, the DC head used his Twitter account to disclose that these speculations are unfounded. On social media, Gunn posted, “Folks, please stop spreading falsehoods. I believe six of us have read the script. No one has any knowledge about The Batman 2.”

Robert Pattinson is slated to reprise his role as a cherished superhero character on screen. The initial movie from this series debuted in 2022, leaving viewers eager for more after its thrilling conclusion. Following several postponements, director Matt Reeves recently confirmed that the film’s script has been finalized and production is scheduled to begin next January.
Regarding the actors, Robert Pattinson is joined by Colin Farrell, who will once again portray The Penguin. Jeffrey Wright takes on the role of Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis plays Alfred Pennyworth. As for Zoë Kravitz, her return to the series hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.
Based on news reports, the new Batman movie is expected to be distributed outside of DC Studios. Instead, it’ll fall under the Elseworlds banner. This move has been confirmed by DC executives, who are aiming for a more focused direction for their studios.
When discussing the film earlier, Gunn expressed to a media outlet, “It’s best for people to give Matt some space when it comes to scriptwriting, as he takes the time needed to produce his work, and that’s simply how it is.
He said, “He doesn’t owe you anything just because you enjoy his movie. In fact, you enjoy his movie because of Matt. So, let Matt handle things in his own way.
Meanwhile, The Batman: Part II will release in theaters in October 2027.
