Beatport and Miller Genuine Draft Want To Back Your Favorite Music Venues

It’s clear that the pandemic has had a significant impact on the nightlife industry, causing approximately 30% of music venues across Europe to shut down over the past few years. Numerous venues have also encountered various operational difficulties. However, artists, event organizers, and groups such as “Save Our Scene” are uniting to protect the industry. Now, Beatport and Miller Genuine Draft are joining forces in a fresh initiative to contribute to the cause.

Slated for launch this month, the Grassroots Venue Fund is poised to provide assistance to independent music venues with €60,000 EUR (approximately $68,000 USD) earmarked for infrastructure improvements and creative programming projects. In a public announcement, Yasemin Kosereisoglu, Director of Client Relations & Creative Production at The Beatport Group, expressed, “This fund symbolizes a collective pledge to the future of electronic music. By bolstering independent venues in strategic locations, we’re contributing to the infrastructure that sustains our culture.

In this project, Miller and Beatport, known for promoting up-and-coming DJs and producers, will shift their focus to Turkey, Hungary, Georgia, and Australia. These locations are recognized for their distinctive yet often underestimated nightlife scenes. The aim of this investment is to bolster the local music communities sustainably, generating more international recognition for these regions in the process.

To highlight the commencement of the Grassroots Venue Fund, four distinctive locations will be showcased through a sequence of activities, starting with DJ Deborah de Luca’s performance in Istanbul. Anticipation builds as music enthusiasts can expect Nora En Pure to headline an event in Budapest this coming September, alongside events scheduled for later this year in Australia and Georgia.
