Back in November 1st, 2019, I found myself captivated by The Morning Show on Apple TV+. This intriguing series is loosely inspired by Brian Stelter’s 2013 book, Top of the Morning. It offers a gripping exploration of the backstage world of a popular morning news program, delving deep into the personal lives and cultural nuances that shape those at its helm.
The narrative begins by delving into the repercussions following a male co-host being allegedly involved in sexual misconduct, leading to his dismissal from the show. The series examines the #MeToo movement through various perspectives. Subsequent seasons address other significant topics such as the COVID-19 crisis, racial disparity, the Capitol uprising, and the conflict in Ukraine.
The second season of the show debuted on September 17, 2021. In January of 2022, Apple decided to continue the series for a third season, which started airing on September 13, 2023. The show was given another chance for a fourth season and is set to be released on September 17, 2025.
The Morning Show has received numerous accolades, with a total of 25 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, 10 Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations, and 9 Golden Globe nods. Notably, Jennifer Aniston and Billy Crudup have both delivered outstanding performances that have been widely recognized. In 2020, Aniston won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Female Actor in a Drama Series, and she has also been nominated twice for the Emmy in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress. Similarly, Crudup clinched the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2020 and again in 2024.
In Season 4, there’s a significant shift as Marion Cotillard joins the cast, taking on the role of Celine Dumont. Apple TV+ has unveiled the initial promotional trailer, which features Cotillard in a control room observing interviews featuring Alex Levy, portrayed by Jennifer Aniston, and Bradley Jackson, played by Reese Witherspoon.
She observes silently as she scrutinizes the video, and the trailer concludes with a tight shot of her expression and the caption, “A new season… A new leader.
In the fourth season of “#TheMorningShow,” which debuts on September 17 on Apple TV+, Marion Cotillard takes over as Celine Dumont.
You can rewatch the first three seasons to get caught up before then.

In the upcoming fourth season, the storyline will persistently delve into the power dynamics within the realm of broadcast news. The character portrayed by Cotillard, a shrewd and tactical figure with an influential European history, is anticipated to cause a significant shift in the balance of power at UBA, the fictitious network that serves as the series’ setting.
The production of Season 4 began on July 8, 2024, and concluded on December 5, 2024. Fans are advised to rewatch the previous three seasons as they will be released again before the new season airs on September 17, 2025.
