COLD STORAGE Delivers One of the Grossest Body Horror Trailers of 2025

As a dedicated cinephile, I’ve been yearning for a fresh dose of grotesque horror-comedy with a biohazard outbreak theme, akin to the brilliance of “Planet Terror” or “Slither”. Well, my fellow movie enthusiasts, it seems our anticipation has almost reached its boiling point. The renowned French production company, Studio Canal, has just unveiled the trailer for “Cold Storage“, a new venture from the skilled directorial hand of David Koepp. Yes, you heard it right! David Koepp, the mastermind behind the original “Jurassic Park” script, the first “Mission: Impossible”, and Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man”. This is definitely a project worth keeping an eye on!

The movie that’s currently in production is an adaptation of his 2019 book with the same title. The team behind the hit movie “Zombieland” is also working on this project. In the film, you’ll see Liam Neeson, riding high from the success of “The Naked Gun“, and Joe Keery, who will have recently completed five seasons of “Stranger Things“. You can watch the first trailer for “Cold Storage” right here:

And here’s the official plot synopsis for Cold Storage from Studio Canal to accompany that trailer:

On their most thrilling night shift yet, two young colleagues, Teacake and Naomi, working at a self-storage business situated on an old military base’s site, encounter their wildest nightmare. A parasitic fungus, previously sealed by the government decades ago in the deepest levels of the base, breaks free, causing chaos as it rapidly multiplies in the rising underground heat. This highly infectious microorganism wreaks havoc on both human and non-human inhabitants within the facility. With time quickly running out, it’s up to Teacake and Naomi, along with a seasoned bioterror operative, to control this rapidly evolving threat and thwart the potential catastrophic extinction of humanity itself.

As a cinephile eagerly anticipating the chills, here’s my take: “Cold Storage appears to be a terrifying manifestation of a Halloween Horror Nights maze, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it! The stellar cast includes Georgina Campbell, Sosie Bacon, Vanessa Redgrave, and Lesley Manville. Regrettably, the exact release date remains elusive, but the tantalizing trailer promises a theater debut in 2026.
