HoYoverse expects Genshin Impact UGC mode to come out in 2025

HoYoverse has hinted at introducing a user-created content feature in Genshin Impact, and they’ve announced their expectation for this significant game expansion to launch by the year 2025.

These tools, similar to those used in Fortnite and Roblox, allow both players and creators to design their own games within the Genshin Impact universe and share them with the global gaming community. This includes a wide range of genres such as management simulations, first-person shooters, turn-based RPGs, platformers, and more. The possibilities are virtually endless. While basic prototypes of these tools have been previewed in the Serenitea Pot and Divine Ingenuity modes within the game, the full User Generated Content (UGC) tools are expected to be significantly more robust and versatile than what has been demonstrated thus far.

With the upcoming toolkit, you’ll have the ability to craft both individual and group gaming adventures. Notably, HoYoverse has pre-built several communal spaces where players can interact and socialize at their leisure.

HoYoverse plans to progressively provide a significant portion of Genshin Impact’s resources for user-generated content (UGC), offering creators a wealth of materials to utilize. If these UGC tools are both user-friendly and robust enough to cater to the vast and imaginative fanbase of Genshin Impact, this decision could potentially evolve the game into a self-contained platform similar to Fortnite or Roblox, further increasing its appeal and attractiveness to an even wider audience.

Perhaps connected to the upcoming UGC mode, Genshin Impact will end its service on PS4 in 2026.
