Evidently, sitting out the great blockchain ball was simply too much for their constitution.
Bit Mining Takes a Jaunty Stroll Deeper into the Solana Jungle
The company tittered confidentially to TopMob (over cocktails, one assumes) that it parted with approximately $4.89 million to amass this splendid pile of solana (SOL), thus creating a treasury one can only hope is guarded by something suitably dramatic. This purchase, they coyly suggest, supports their oh-so-moody new validator.
The validator, one is assured, shall be operated using their proprietary technology-because nothing says modern panache quite like the word “proprietary.” Through staking their own SOL (their precious, self-acquired stash), Bit Mining hopes to sprinkle both decentralization and security over the Solana network, all while raking in those seductive on-chain rewards. 🍸
This extravagant manoeuvre follows their July 10 announcement of a $300 million scheme to turn Solana into their own private country house-complete with infrastructure and acquisitions, one presumes. The validator launch is, we are told, the inaugural act of this theatrical production.
“This validator launch is a foundational step in operationalizing our Solana strategy. We’re not just holding SOL, we’re helping power the network,” pronounced Bo Yu, Bit Mining’s chairman and COO, no doubt with a straight face and a perfectly knotted tie. “It demonstrates our belief in Solana’s potential and our commitment to building meaningful infrastructure.” What verve; what vision; what a splendid press release!
Bit Mining claims this validator deployment is merely the first, darling sip in an overflowing goblet. They intend to expand their presence among the Solana validator set, growing their SOL treasury and infrastructure like ivy on a gothic mansion.
