It’s been officially announced that ‘A Quiet Place Part III‘ is in development, with the original series creator, John Krasinski, set to resume his roles as director, screenwriter, and producer for the film.
The movie will be released in theaters on July 9, 2027. Krasinski shared this news on Instagram himself last Friday, officially confirming his comeback to the series.
There’s no word yet on the cast or plot, with Paramount keeping details under wraps for now.

Franchise Continues After $900M Global Haul
This is the fourth part of the “Quiet Place” saga, a sequence that started back in 2018 with the initial movie featuring John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe. The debut film was a massive success, debuting with $50 million and eventually grossing an impressive $341 million globally.
In May of 2021, the sequel titled “A Quiet Place Part II” was released, earning a total of $297 million worldwide. Four years later, in 2024, a prequel spinoff entitled “A Quiet Place: Day One” hit the screens, with Michael Sarnoski as director and Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn in leading roles. This movie also proved successful, bringing in $262 million at the box office.
In total, the franchise has amassed more than $900 million globally and garnered both Oscar and BAFTA nominations for its exceptional sound design throughout its journey.
Long-Delayed Sequel Finally Set
In 2022, John Krasinski initially suggested “A Quiet Place Part III,” aiming for a 2025 premiere. However, plans changed along the way, and during this period, he directed the film “IF” for Paramount. Now, with a confirmed release date in 2027, it appears that the eagerly anticipated third installment is moving forward as planned.
In the upcoming film, production duties will once again be handled by Krasinski’s Sunday Night Productions, in collaboration with Allyson Seeger and Platinum Dunes. Notably, Sunday Night Productions has a prioritized arrangement for projects with Paramount Pictures.
The Story So Far
The “Quiet Place” movies chronicle a family’s struggle to endure in a world dominated by deafeningly sensitive extraterrestrial beings who annihilate any source of sound. These creatures are blind, and their lethal response is triggered by the slightest noise.
As a devoted movie buff, I was captivated by Krasinski’s portrayal of the father character in the initial film, with his presence re-emerging through flashbacks in the sequel. However, the fate of the characters who made it through and whether Blunt, Simmonds, or Jupe will reappear is yet to be revealed on the silver screen.
