For the last three years, Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton have been a couple. There’s been speculation among fans about whether they might have quietly gotten married, but the actress from the Marvel films has clarified the situation.
During her interview on the Miss Me? podcast, the actress disclosed that she’s been fiancée to the actor for quite some time now, but they haven’t tied the knot just yet.
The rumors about them being married grew stronger when it was revealed that the pair had another child on the way, which they are having together.
Zawe Ashton clarified her relationship status with Tom Hiddleston
During their chat with the podcast host, Ashton casually revealed that although they’re not legally married, she and the Loki actor refer to each other as husband and wife in their personal life. She explained that it seemed odd to her to continue using the term “boyfriend” and “girlfriend.
Regarding our discussion about the engagement phase, the Blitz personality mentioned, “It’s about using the title ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ towards each other. It’s about glancing at the ring finger and thinking, ‘This could be the tradition that comes along with our initial ‘yes’.
In the course of the conversation, the podcast host added her thoughts by saying, “You refer to your partner as ‘my husband,’ which is sweet.” Ashton responded with a joke, “Yes, but it also irritates those who are actually getting married. So you should know that’s not quite real yet.
The actress confessed that she and Hiddleston have contemplated marriage, albeit in different manners, but the actual prospect is quite daunting for them.
In the meantime, the pair is eagerly preparing for another chapter as parents. The actress unveiled her growing belly at the SXSW festival’s red carpet event in June, which took place in London.
As Zawe Ashton anticipates the arrival of her second baby, Tom Hiddleston is keeping himself occupied with filming for the upcoming Marvel production, titled “Avengers: Doomsday.” He’s set to return as the character Loki in this new project.
