However, these uniquely-owned skills can also be acquired from veteran Umamusume as legacies, allowing characters to learn other horses’ unique abilities. The inherited unique skill functions differently than the one each horse naturally has, as it cannot be leveled up during a racing career.

At each stage, the advantages become more potent, making them a worthwhile investment for your collection of skills. However, these advancements aren’t something you can buy using your Skill Points. So, let me clarify, how does one enhance Unique Skills in Umamusume?

How to level up Unique Skills in Umamusume

In the URA Finale scenario, a Traine Umamusume’s Trainee gains experience and improves unique skills primarily by accumulating supporters at three crucial stages during their career race.

  • Year 3 – Early February: 60,000 fans
  • Year 3 – Early April: 70,000 fans, Level 3 Friendship with Director Akikawa
  • Year 3 – Late December: 120,000 fans

If you manage to win enough significant races to accumulate a sufficient fanbase before the specified deadlines, each of those turning points will boost your Trainee’s unique skill. It’s crucial to understand that these events can occur independently, meaning even if you don’t reach 60,000 fans by Early February in Year 3, having 70,000 fans and a green Friendship bar with Director Akikawa by Early April will still grant you an upgrade.

Among most Trainee Umamusume, the specified requirements tend to apply, with some exceptions primarily found among those specializing in Dirt races. The main difference lies in the scarcity of Dirt track competitions compared to Turf races on the racing schedule, making it challenging for competitors who focus on these events to garner fan support. Consequently, the criteria needed for racers like Haru Urara to advance their Unique Skills are somewhat more lenient.

  • Year 3 – Early April: 60,000 fans, Level 3 Friendship with Director Akikawa
  • Year 3 – Late December: 80,000 fans

In Umamusume, attracting fans is best achieved by winning Grand Races (G1), as these are the most prominent events on the calendar. Notably, significant races such as the Japan Cup provide additional chances to amass supporters.
