In a surprising partnership, NEXON’s hit mobile racing game, KartRider Rush+, launches its newest season with an unusual ally – the Gyeonggi Bukbu Provincial Police.
The collaboration aims to support the police’s initiative called “Campaign for Road Safety” and encourages players to adopt safe driving practices. In this game, players can accomplish tasks and collect aesthetic rewards modeled after the police, like a traffic baton and horns. Until August 17th, these unique items can be earned by accumulating shards.
Each player is given a themed standee for their in-game dwellings, complete with an emoticon and a balloon, all automatically.
KRR+ represents the newest mobile iteration of the popular KartRider series, drawing significant influence from Nintendo’s iconic Mario Kart franchise and recognized as one of the most prominent video games in South Korea. Within two weeks of its release, the game was downloaded more than 10 million times. In 2020, approximately half of the entire South Korean population had registered for the PC version, making it an ideal choice for the Gyeonggi Bukbu Provincial Police to leverage in their public awareness campaign.
Fortunately, players still won’t have to obey traffic laws in the game.
