
Jamie Lee Curtis has officially announced the return of Murder, She Wrote, and she’ll be taking on her old character once more. During a recent event for Freaky Friday, the actress shared her enthusiasm about this revival during interactions with the press.
The forthcoming film is inspired by the long-running TV series that shares its title, airing from 1984 until 1996, spanning a total of 12 years.

At the glamorous event of Freaky Friday’s red carpet, the actress expressed her eagerness and enthusiasm as the project finally gets underway.
During her conversation with Entertainment Tonight, the actress shared, “It’s definitely on the horizon! We’re almost there, and yes, I’m thrilled. Absolutely thrilled. However, I’m trying to keep my anticipation in check until we begin filming. I have a few other projects to tackle first, but once those are done, I’ll fully immerse myself in the excitement.
The movie is set to be penned by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, with Lord Miller and Amy Pascal joining forces to finance the production of the film.
In regards to the television program, the crime-drama unfolds within the picturesque town of Cabot Cove. Here, a former educator finds herself immersed in the world of mystery writing, and surprisingly adept at unraveling genuine murder mysteries.
Jamie Lee Curtis’ upcoming projects
Regarding upcoming projects, you’ll see Lee Curtis portraying Tess Colman again in the movie titled “Freakier Friday”. This time, she’ll be sharing the screen with Lindsay Lohan, who takes on the role of Anna Coleman.
The sequel to the hit film is directed by Nisha Ganatra and is set to hit theaters on August 8.
The film also stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Julia Butters and Ryan Malgarini.
