As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel nostalgic about revisiting the legendary band, Spinal Tap, forty-one years after their revolutionary mockumentary debut. Now, with a rift between bandmates David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel, and Derek Smalls (Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer), they’re compelled to reunite for one last concert. The sequel, titled Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, also brings back the talented documentarian Marty Di Bergi (Rob Reiner), who’s eager to immortalize his favorite heavy metal icons as they ponder their mortality and fervently hope that their twelfth drummer doesn’t meet them in the great beyond. The iconic Spinal Tap will share the stage with music royalty like Paul McCartney and Elton John, grappling with their complex past to deliver a concert that they hope etches their names even deeper into the annals of rock ‘n’ roll history.
