As a dedicated fan of “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers”, I’ve come across quite a few doors and gates that are initially locked, requiring specific keys for me to progress. Often, these locked doors play a significant role in the main story advancement, but sometimes they lead to small optional areas filled with valuable items, weapons, or even complete armor sets that would otherwise remain out of reach. Here’s how I managed to unlock the Courtyard door situated close to Shu Sanctum in “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers”.

On your way towards Shu Sanctum, notice that one of the nearby doors is securely locked and can only be opened using the Courtyard Key. Proceed along the path and you’ll reach a fork. Don’t go straight ahead; instead, veer left, then take an immediate right. This route will guide you to the Bamboo Courtyard, where you’ll hear raucous sounds coming from enemies pounding on various doors in the area. Defeat the numerous soulslike adversaries that inhabit this space, and once they’re vanquished, engage with the doors to have conversations with the NPCs residing within each house.

There’s a young lad hidden away behind one of the doors, and he confides in you that his folks are lost – his dad set out to search for his mom and younger sibling. He implores your assistance and gives you the key to the Courtyard.

What Is Inside the Courtyard Door in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers?

Return the key to the region close to the Fire Dancer and open the door. Make sure to clear out any adversaries in the vicinity, including the one armed with a rifle perched above. Upon entering, you’ll discover the Militia armor set on one of the fallen soldiers. Additionally, you’ll encounter a Damaged Letter and a Red Mercury Shot within the room.

Red Shots with a Mercury Hue harbor 400 individual units of Red Mercury. This potent substance is extremely beneficial for progression and acquiring skill upgrade points.
