Netflix recently announced that “Wednesday” will be coming back for its third season, not long after unveiling the trailer for Season 2. The series starring Jenna Ortega is set to grace our screens once again, as her beloved character embarks on another school year, this time returning to educational institutions.
Prior to the highly anticipated debut, Ortega and producer Tim Burton engaged in a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, discussing what viewers might encounter in the upcoming season. Additionally, the creators, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, are intending to carry on with the show.
Is Wednesday season 3 on the cards?
According to media reports, the creators, Gough and Millar, plan to carry on with the narrative of the widely-loved Netflix series.
Furthermore, they subtly suggested a separate series that might feature a fresh character from the Addams family. Discussing the upcoming show, the producers hinted, “We’re certainly considering it; there are other characters to explore.
The Netflix CCO, Bela Bajaria, added, “There’s a lot to explore in the Addams Family.”
In 2022, Wednesday made its Netflix premiere and quickly gained popularity, ranking No. 2 in viewership. That year, the cast garnered numerous nominations, including two Golden Globe mentions: Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy, and Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy for Ortega.
Moreover, the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice actress’ dance in the show went viral on the internet.
For the second season of “As for Wednesday,” the series is set to air in two installments, with the narrative focusing on the protagonist’s efforts to rescue Enid from unimaginable terrors.
The new season will premiere on August 6, with the second part releasing on September 3.
