HoYoverse reveals Alice, Durin, Flins, and more characters from Song of the Welkin Moon

HoYoverse has cranked up excitement for the next chapter in Genshin Impact: Song of the Welkin Moon, by unveiling the main characters set to feature in this upcoming storyline. The “Moonlit Ballad of the Night” trailer offers a detailed glimpse at the designs of each character, including anticipated figures like Alice, Varka, Durin, and Columbina.

In addition to some well-known characters, Albedo, Alice, and surprisingly Scaramouche – a past Fatui Harbinger previously known as Wanderer – are also present. With all the current Harbingers convening in Nod-Krai, it seems that Wanderer is seizing this opportunity to settle scores with them. Developers have hinted that Nod-Krai will serve as a backdrop for wrapping up various storylines, and it appears that Wanderer’s tale might be among those concluded.

In this video, you’ll find a complete roster of characters (along with any discernible traits or known details). Enjoy!

  • Nicole Reeyn alias N
  • Aino
  • Varka – Anemo
  • Jahoda
  • Ineffa – Electro
  • Durin – Pyro
  • Sandrone alias Marionette
  • Lauma
  • Nefer – Dendro
  • Kyryll Chudomirovich Flins – Electro
  • Columbina alias Moon Maiden
  • Alice alias A – Pyro
  • Albedo – Geo
  • Wanderer – Anemo

Intriguingly, there are several points to ponder with this particular trailer. Immediately noticeable is the label given to Sandrone as a Fatui Harbinger, while Columbina is simply called the Moon Maiden. Since we know that the Harbingers are in search of her, it could potentially mean she has betrayed or distanced herself from them somehow.

Nicole and Alice, who we know as members of the Hexenzirkel, have piqued our interest. Their motives, however, remain a mystery. Fans have deciphered the letter Alice receives in the trailer, which hints at the Three Moon Sisters. Varka, the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, openly admits his presence is for the moon, while Columbina mentions an impending veil of deceit. It appears that multiple groups are determined to unveil the illusion hiding the sky and moon of Teyvat.

Nicole Reeyn

Nicole is a powerful witch and shown to have wings in the trailer.

Aino

Aino is a member of the Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop in Nod-Krai and the designer of Ineffa.

Varka

Varka is the Favonius Order’s Grand Master and has been on this mission since Version 1.0.

Jahoda

At the moment, there’s not much information available about Jahoda, apart from her design which seems to link her to the Clink-Clank Krumkake Craftshop, but beyond that, her background remains a mystery.

Durin

In simpler terms, Durin is a dragon that Rhinedottir, one of the Five Sinners and part of the circle of witches known as Hexenzirkel, artificially created. This dragon consumed Naberius, the Spirit of Life. Later, it was killed by Dvalin, and its remains formed Dragonspine. Durin plays a significant role in Mondstadt’s history and is essentially like a sibling to Albedo because they were both brought into existence through Rhinedottir’s creations.

Sandrone

Sandrone, also known as Marionette, is the seventh member of the Harbingers from the Fatui faction and has a strong fascination with mechanical devices and automatons. It appears that she has been assigned to confront the Frostmoon Scions who are challenging the Fatui’s control over Nod-Krai.

Lauma

In a more casual and clear manner, you could say: Lauma is a priestess known for her ties with the Frostmoon Scions, as hinted in her earlier teaser. She seems to have a strong bond with the regions of Nod-Krai and the ancient lunar forces.

Nefer

Nefer is reminiscent of a blank canvas, yet her unique structure and Dendro Vision hint at her potential roots in the land of Sumeru. Her name echoing an ancient Egyptian queen adds weight to this theory. Beyond being a tale-spinner, there seems to be much more to uncover about her.

Flins

As a passionate follower, I’m excited to share that Kyryll Chudomirovich Flins has joined the enigmatic trio of Jahoda and Nefer. His name hints at him hailing from Snezhnaya, and the lantern he carries bears resemblance to those wielded by Fatui Electro Operatives. Whether he’s an exorcist, tomb raider, or archaeologist, his brief appearance in the trailer is confined to a graveyard.

Columbina

Columbina, also known as Damsel, is the third member of the Fatui Harbingers, but HoYoverse has chosen to distinguish her from this role by referring to her as the Moon Maiden. It’s unclear whether she has betrayed the Fatui or if they have turned against her. The possibility that she could be a double agent carrying out the Tsaritsa’s plans also arises, and her connection to the Moon Sisters is intriguing. Indeed, she seems to be one of the main characters in the storyline.

Alice

Alice, also known as A, is a prominent figure within the Hexenzirkel, the mother of Klee, and one of the most powerful beings we’re aware of in Teyvat. If she decides to intervene in the Nod-Krai matter, it signals that significant events are on the horizon.

In approximately a week, the prelude for the storyline in Genshin Impact: Song of the Welkin Moon will start with update 5.8. Later this year, version 6.0 of the game will launch and continue the story arc.
