Summer has passed and our girl, Charli XCX, has gotten married! As per reports from Page Six, she wed her partner, George Daniel, on July 19th in a private ceremony held in London. It appears that all of George Daniel’s bandmates from The 1975 were present except for the frontman, Matty Healy.
Matty Healy is reported to have flown to his fiancée, Gabbriette Bechtel, following a solo trip to Ibiza. He opted out of attending his bandmate’s wedding ceremony and instead chose to accompany his partner during the promotions of her first film in Los Angeles. On the other hand, Adam Hann and Ross MacDonald are believed to have been present to offer support and celebrate their drummer’s wedding events.
George Daniel and Charli XCX’s Relationship Timeline
George Bedford Daniel, who is recognized for his work as a record producer, DJ, and electronic musician, is primarily known for being the drummer of the English pop rock band The 1975. In March 2021, he crossed paths with someone special while collaborating on the song Spinning. Shortly afterward, they started dating, and their relationship was made official in May 2022. They’ve been seen together at various events such as award shows and parties since then, clearly showing their affection for each other. In November 2023, the two took their love to a new level by getting engaged, and they recently tied the knot at Hackney Town Hall in London.
Their wedding was quite intimate, limited to around 20 guests who were mostly family and very close friends. Charli XCX chose a mini white dress with an off-shoulder style and a veil, while her headpiece added a touch of elegance. She completed her look with white heels, black sunglasses, and a bouquet of white flowers. In contrast, the groom donned a black suit and wore a white boutonniere to coordinate with his bride as they exchanged a kiss outside the venue.
