+ Unparalleled damage potential, especially in guild raids
+ Very unique AOE pattern
+ Another costume coming soon
- Requires a lot of setup, and difficult to use for beginners with low level costumes.
- Most powerful in guild raids, ok in fiend hunts, a lot more difficult to use in other game modes
- Currently has a cooldown gap (at least until her second costume is released)
Olivier’s stats
As Olivier is a new character, a good starting point is to look at her stats.
Olivier’s offensive statistics are generally strong. While her M.ATK (Multiplier Attack) is slightly lower than the norm, she boasts an exceptional 100% base critical damage, surpassing the average significantly. This makes her an ideal candidate for a PVE attacker role.
Instead, it can be stated as follows: While Olivier boasts good offensive stats, her health points (HP) are rather low, and she lacks defense (DEF) and magical resistance (M.RES). This isn’t much of an issue in player-versus-environment (PVE), but in player-versus-player (PVP) scenarios, her survivability will be quite limited.

Olivier for PVE
Olivier’s fresh “Rampage” skill now draws from his SP bar, and its strength increases based on the amount of SP it consumes. This ability holds enormous damage capacity for high-level PVE combat, yet it imposes considerable constraints when assembling your team composition.
Maximum skill damage
Olivier’s maximum possible skill damage is very high, especially in guild raids.
In standard PVE fights, a fully charged Special Points (SP) bar equals 20 SP. When Fallen Wings Olivier is activated with a full SP bar and no other teammates utilizing skills, following the deduction of 1 SP for her skill expense, her Rampage ability will absorb 19 SP. As a result, her damage output with all potential points at maximum (5x) would be 2.5 times the base damage + 1900% = 21.5 times the base damage. This makes it the most potent single attack in the game.
In guild raid fights, when Olivier uses her special ability with a fully charged SP bar (assuming no other teammates are using their skills), she loses 1 SP for the skill cost and absorbs an astonishing 29 SP with her Rampage ability. This results in a mind-blowing damage output of 3,150%. Olivier shines particularly well in guild raids due to her potential for inflicting the highest Rampage damage in such battles.
NOTE 1: You can reach greater heights with the help of Poolside Fairy Refi. Her unique ability lowers Olivier’s base skill cost to zero SP, enabling his Rampage to absorb an extra SP. Let me elaborate further on this point below.
NOTE 2: During the same turn, Olivier’s Rampage skill does not take advantage of SP regenerated from other abilities like Top Idol Helena or Pool Party Justia. This means that if you use these three characters together in one turn, Olivier won’t be able to utilize the SP generated by Helena and Justia.
How to use Olivier
Although Olivier’s max damage is high, getting to max damage is the tricky part.
To ensure Olivier has a complete SP bar during his attack turn, it would be best to apply any buff skills prior to Olivier’s attack turn. It is important to watch your SP usage on your buffer characters as well, but if you possess skills that also replenish SP, feel free to use more before Olivier’s attack turn.
Furthermore, to utilize Olivier multiple times in a fight, you should figure out how to swiftly refill your SP gauge immediately following Olivier’s initial attack, as this is yet another significant constraint on his power.
As a gamer, I’ve picked up a hint from the devs suggesting that the upcoming Olivier costume could potentially address the problem of slow Special (SP) recharge. The latest story expansion has given us a sneak peek into what the next costume’s set might include (beware, potential story spoilers ahead!).
CLICK FOR SPOILER
Different kinds of battles give different auto SP regen:
- Story/Tower battles usually do not give auto SP regen at the end of each turn. This makes it pretty tough to use Olivier’s skill in normal PVE more than once. If the enemy survives Olivier’s first attack, you’re basically stuck doing nothing but normal attacks on the next turn with zero SP. Since story mode enemies usually have very strong attacks, this makes Olivier a generally bad pick for hard/very hard story battles and tower battles. Most of the time, you simply do not have the breathing space for the setup time and recovery time that Olivier needs to shine.
- Fiend bosses and guild raids give varying levels of auto SP regen each turn, depending on the boss. Most fiend hunts to date have had SP regen of between 3 to 6, though there have been some seasons with outliers (e.g. Water Tanya had only 1 SP regen). If you want to play Olivier, you’ll generally need to have at least 5 SP regen in order to keep the buffer cycles running without dead turns.
In terms of performance, it’s clear that Olivier shines particularly well in guild raids. This isn’t just due to a larger SP bar in these scenarios, but also because he benefits significantly from the assistance of Lancelot. Lancelot possesses an ability called “Blessing of the Lake,” which not only restores your SP gauge but also resets cooldown timers as well.
Lancelot remains active for three rounds of play. Given that one move will consistently be the “break skill” (Redeeming Strike, which is hard to pass on), you can employ Lancelot’s refresh feature to aid Olivier up to twice during these turns. Here’s an example of how a turn sequence might look:
1. Player A takes their turn without using the break skill.
2. Player B uses the break skill (Redeeming Strike) on Lancelot, and then uses Lancelot’s refresh to boost Olivier.
3. Player C takes their turn without using the break skill.
4. Player A takes their next turn, and this time they use the break skill on Lancelot, refreshing Olivier again if necessary.
5. Player B takes their turn without using the break skill, but since Lancelot was just refreshed, they can now use him to assist another character or take a different action.
6. Player C takes their final turn of this round without using the break skill.
This cycle repeats for the next two rounds, allowing Olivier to be boosted by Lancelot up to twice per player turn.
- Before Lancelot: FW.Olivia skill (SP bar is now zero)
- First Lancelot turn: Lancelot Blessing of the Lake (SP bar full again), use buffer skills
- Second Lancelot turn: Lancelot Redeeming Strike (enemy break), FW.Olivia skill (SP bar is now zero)
- Third Lancelot Turn: Lancelot Blessing of the Lake (SP bar full again)
- After Lancelot: FW.Olivia ready to go again.
Strategic use of Lancelot is key to get the most out of Olivier in guild raids.
Maximum damage in a team
While it’s true that depleting Olivier’s SP bar maximizes potential skill damage with no help from other teammates, this isn’t always the optimal strategy for playing Olivier. In fiend hunts and guild raids, a high hit count Refi build could yield more damage than a low hit count Teresse build, depending on the specific circumstances.
The short version is this:
- For low hit count teams, you trade off chain damage for BA.Teresse’s 200% damage amp (together with MC.Teresse’s 120% M.ATK buff).
- It’s possible for high hit count teams to exceed the damage of low hit count teams with Olivier, so long as you can get good coverage on your chain stacks over the enemy weak points.
- There are currently no skills that can match Olivier’s AOE, which reaches from front to back. So for example, if the boss had weak points in the front row and the back row, Olivier might be able to reach all of the weak points but you wouldn’t be able to stack chains on all weak points.
- Overall, the high hit count team is likely to be the better choice for most guild raids. PF.Refi’s buff scales better with a 7-person team, and the high hit count strategy allows you to use cheap chain stackers like Sage Olstein for efficient damage amplification.
As to the long version with math, let’s compare some example fiend hunt team comp setups:
Team Comp 1: Diana + Teresse + Helena + TF.Levia
The sequence is as follows: Diana (AOTU) along with Teresse (BA) and Helena (T), netting 1 Space Point (1 SP). Then, Teresse (MC) and Helena (B) with Levia (TF), earning 8 Space Points (8 SP). Lastly, Olivier (FW) individually scores 1 Space Point (1 SP).
- For simplicity, we’ll assume that TF.Levia provides 100% amplification (ignore the fact that the main target gets 120%).
- This is the classic “low hit count” team setup. It has no chain damage, but trades chains for BA.Teresse’s big 200% amp buff.
- The first two player turns are used to set up the buffs. On the third player turn, Olivier attacks solo for max damage.
- One disadvantage of this build is that the turn before Olivier is SP heavy. This is because MC.Teresse, B.Helena and TF.Levia all have a 4 turn duration, so they must be played on the turn before Olivier attacks.
In this team, Olivier’s damage is calculated as follows:
Skill damage (19 SP) | 2,150% |
Amplification (BA.Teresse + TF.Levia) | 400% |
Property dmg (Diana + 90% base) | 410% |
M.ATK (MC.Teresse + B.Helena) | 335% |
TOTAL | 118,121% |
Team Comp 2: Refi + Celia + Helena + Levia
Initially, Refi requests help from Helena (twice on a single network). Then, Helena helps and Celia is mentioned next. Later, Levia gets involved followed by another request for help from Refi (once on a separate network). Finally, Refi assigns tasks to Celia, Olivier (four times on the same network).
Refi first asks Helena for help twice, then Helena helps and mentions Celia. Later, Levia gets involved, followed by another request from Refi. In the end, Refi assigns tasks to both Celia and Olivier (four times together).
- For simplicity, we’ll assume that G.Refi adds about 25% to your total damage (actual figures would depend on your crit rate, but buffing crit damage from 500% to 625% equates to approximately a 25% boost).
- PF.Refi does a lot of heavy lifting in this team to reduce the SP cost of the skills played on Olivier’s attack turn. This allows you to sacrifice 3 SP off the Rampage power in exchange for high chain damage from PWB.Refi and C.Celia.
- You can also see that PF.Refi allows for lower SP spending each turn, and easier recovery after Olivier’s attack.
Olivier’s damage:
Skill damage (16 SP) | 1,850% |
Chain damage (C.Celia, after MB.Celia + PWB.Refi) | 310% |
Vulnerability (TF.Levia) | 200% |
Property dmg (PF.Refi + PWB.Refi + 90% base) | 390% |
M.ATK (B.Helena) | 215% |
Crit damage (G.Refi) | 125% |
TOTAL | 120,220% |
Team Comp 3: Refi + Wilhelmina + Helena + Ventana (SINGLE TARGET ONLY)
Initial arrangement: Refinancing by PF.Refi followed by Helena (2 shareholders net); then, Helena is involved; afterward, Wilhelmina and Ventana are included; finally, G.Refi contributes nothing, leaving a net of zero shareholders; subsequently, Refinancing by PWB.Refi includes Wilhelmina and Olivier (3 shareholders).
or
1. Original setup: First, Refi performs refinancing; secondly, Helena with 2 shareholders takes part; thirdly, Helena appears again; fourthly, both Wilhelmina and Ventana join in; fifthly, Refi does not add any more shareholders; finally, a new round of refinancing happens involving Refi, Wilhelmina, and Olivier (3 shareholders).
or
1. Original sequence: First off, Refi handles refinancing; secondly, Helena participates with 2 shareholders; then, Helena is involved once more; fourthly, both Wilhelmina and Ventana get on board; fifthly, Refi doesn’t contribute any new shareholders; finally, a fresh round of refinancing occurs involving Refi, Wilhelmina, and Olivier (3 shareholders).
- This is very similar to Team Comp 2, except that here we are using Ventana and Wilhelmina for maximum single target damage.
- Fiend hunts and guild raids with single targets are pretty rare, but it’s worth showing the damage numbers to demonstrate how powerful the high chain setup can be.
Olivier’s damage:
Skill damage (17 SP) | 1,950% |
Chain damage (C.Celia, after MB.Celia + PWB.Refi) | 310% |
Vulnerability (OP.Ventana) | 300% |
Property dmg (PF.Refi + PWB.Refi + 90% base) | 390% |
M.ATK (B.Helena) | 215% |
Crit damage (G.Refi) | 125% |
TOTAL | 282,050% |
Olivier for PVP
In PVP, Olivier can be used in attack teams as a cheap 1 SP skill that does 250% magic damage.
In the game, there are other cost-effective skills similar to Apostle Morphea that deliver comparable results. Apostle Morphea, for instance, dishes out 200% magic damage in a 3×3 area for just 1 SP. On the other hand, Emerging Desire Roxy (limited) delivers approximately 244% magic damage at the same cost and also silences opponents. Olivier stands out due to her unpredictable AOE, which can catch enemies off guard, especially those anticipating a straight line attack like Venaka. As such, she is a reasonable choice for PVP attack teams when combined with B.Helena, primarily because of this unexpected AOE ability.
Currently, there’s a break in her cool-down period as her second costume hasn’t been launched yet. This means she doesn’t have any actions during your second turn, which makes her less effective than other affordable attackers at the moment.
Olivier isn’t great in defense. Her defensive stats are low, and even if she survives the initial round, her impact isn’t significant. In other words, her 2 SP 350% damage and even her 5 SP 750% damage aren’t particularly impressive.
Olivier’s exclusive weapon
Olivier’s unique weapon boosts her Main Attack power. Given that Olivier specializes in guild raids, anyone aiming for a competitive rank in guild raids might consider investing in her unique weapon as well.
In usual circumstances, expensive, exclusive weapons aren’t essential unless you’re striving for top-tier scores. Given that Olivier is primarily designed for raids within a guild, it’s possible to temporarily borrow her from one of your fellow guild members as long as someone in the guild has invested resources in her.
Conclusion
According to legend, Olivier inflicts heavy divine damage at a steep cost. Her maximum potential is vast, yet the preparation process can be intricate and proper resource management of Special Points (SP) is crucial. She shines particularly in guild raids and performs well in certain dark fiend hunts, but falls short in other PVE game modes. In PVP, she serves as an economical 1 SP attacker, though she’s unlikely to contend for top-tier play until her second costume is unveiled.
It might be surprising, but having Olivier attack alone to utilize his full Special Points bar isn’t always the optimal method for dealing maximum damage. Instead, combining a high chain team consisting of Refi, Celia, and Olivier can match or even surpass the damage output of a low chain “Olivier solo” setup.
Essential for top-tier guild raid participants operating at maximum capacity. If you’re not in that group, you likely won’t notice much of a difference as long as you can temporarily borrow an Olivier from a fellow guild member during raids.
